Manton 12ga 2 �� with a fixed Full choke and .30-30 WCF (Winchester) combination gun is a turn-of-the-century "catalog gun" or trade firearm imported by hardware stores. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries between the 1890s and 1940s by Belgian manufacturers in Li�ge, most notably Henri Pieper mass-produced firearms using variation names of elite, deceased British gunsmiths like Joseph Manton to increase sales. While Joseph Manton never built modern break-action .30-30 combination guns, Belgian makers specialized in these budget friendly, versatile frontier "combo" firearms. It has a case colored receiver, �Fine Steel� marked barrels, and on the bottom of the barrel it is marked Belgium the �Royal Crown over R�, �Crown over overall ELG� and serial number 2626 along with other proof marks. On the water table it is marked with the serial number 2626, �GH� and some additional proofs. J. Manton & Co is stamped on the left side lock plate and Machine Made on the right lock plate. It has double triggers for each barrel, a steel trigger guard, and exposed rabbit ear hammers. There is a front fixed blade and single fixed notch and 2 other flip up sights. The once blued finish is turning the usual brown patina. It has a smooth walnut forend with a front push button release and a semi pistolgrip smooth stock with a bakelite buttplate. There are some light scratches in wood along with signs of some solid repairs to the stock and forend. Please see photos. C&R
