1984 Vietnam Veterans National Medal

This is a round bronze medal, issued "BY ACT OF CONGRESS 1984". The obverse features an engraving of a helicopter with soldiers, above a map, with text "VIETNAM VETERANS NATIONAL MEDAL" around the edge. "SAIGON" and "UNITED STATES" are visible on the map. The reverse features an eagle, wings spread, with text "IN HONOR OF THOSE MEN AND WOMEN WHO GAVE OF THEMSELVES IN AN EFFORT TO ENSURE DEMOCRACY AND PEACE THROUGHOUT THE WORLD THIS MEDAL IS STRUCK BY ACT OF CONGRESS 1984".
