The crate is made of unfinished wood secured with nails, suggesting hand assembly rather than mass production. One interior panel bears the handwritten name “Donny Oakes.” The crate has slotted sides and pre-drilled cable-sized holes, suggesting it may have originally served a utilitarian purpose.
