Two Books: "Jubilee Trail" MCML & "The Magic of Believing" 1948

Two notable mid-20th-century books. The first is "Jubilee Trail" by Gwen Bristow, published by Thomas Y. Crowell Company in New York, copyright MCML (1950), with a previous owner's inscription dated June 1951. This historical novel is recognized for its depiction of 19th-century American frontier life. The second book is "The Magic of Believing" by Claude M. Bristol, published by Prentice-Hall, Inc., New York, copyright 1948. This copy is the eighth printing dated August 1949. The book, which explores the power of belief and the subconscious, was influential in the self-help field. The "Magic of Believing" volume shows notable edge and corner wear and water staining, but retains all pages. Included is a religious cross-shaped insert. Both books lack dust jackets.
