FAQ- How do I register to bid?
Click on “REGISTER”, fill out the form that pops up. Then submit and wait for an email back.
IF YOU ARE ON A CELL PHONE:
At the very top left hand corner of the screen you will see three parallel bars. Click on these bars
and select “REGISTER”. Fill out the form that pops up. Then submit and wait for an email back.
Make a username and password that are easy for you to remember. They are sensitive to
uppercase / lowercase and spaces. These will be needed for any future auctions you want to
bid on.
If you don’t see the email, check the spam folder or junk mail.
Click on the link in the email to go back to the auction and start bidding.
I can’t login. There is a message about cookies!
There is sometimes a message that pops up requiring cookies to be accepted. You need to
accept the cookies. Close out of the program and then clear and refresh your browser history.
Log back in and then it should allow you to go back in and bid. This should solve the issue.
Soft Close: One item will close every 15 - 20 seconds (varies with the specific auction needs) until all items are sold. When an item is within 2 minutes of closing and a bid is received the end time will be extended by 2 minutes from when the last bid is received. This will continue until no bid on that item has been received for 2 minutes.
Group Soft Close: Certain items will be sold in groups. If any item in the group receives an extended bid, bidding will be extended on all the lots in the group as above until no lot has received an additional bid for 2 minutes. If a bidder waits until the last second or two to place their bid it may be missed or may inadvertently make the other grouped items show as closed when they are actually still active. refreshing the browser will show them as active again.
Leaving a Max (Highest) Bid: By putting in a "highest bid" the system will automatically place bids up to the maximum you have entered only when needed to outbid another bidder. For example if you enter 1000.00 as a high bid and other bidders only bid up to 850.00 you will be the winning bid at one bid over $850.00. We do not push you up - we want you to continue to bid with on other auctions. This is extremely helpful when your internet may not be reliable or you may not be available to bid in the last few minutes of the item closing.
PLEASE PLACE YOUR BID BEFORE THE 5 SECOND MARK, YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO SNIPE BID ON THE EXTENDED BIDDING!
We strongly recommend that you leave your high bid limit on the items to avoid losing an item due to internet failure - Only the amount needed against other bidders will be used at the going increments up to your top limit.
Automatic Logout - If you are inactive for a period of time on the bidding platform - roughly 10 minutes, the system will automatically log you out. You will need to relog in to continue bidding.
Reserve Bids- Some seller's will place a reserve bid on their items. HOWEVER, They may choose to accept a lower than reserve bid and reduce this bid prior to the item closing. (This is why they are not disclosed)
ONLY BID AN AMOUNT YOU ARE COMFORTABLE TO PAY! If the seller decided to accept your last bid, you are obligated to complete the purchase. When there is a reserve bid in place any max bid placed less than the reserve will automatically use up the whole bid. When the reserve is met, only the portion of a max bid will be used to meet the reserve. any excess will remain to bid against furthur bidding.
TAXES and Farm Use Exemptions Taxes as charged as required by law. Where applicable, and allowable by law, we will exempt the PST for farm use providing an exemption form is signed by the purchaser. There is a very specific set of laws we must follow and can only exempt where allowed - If you want to argue, Call MB Finance or show us the specific exemption at the following link.

OF NOTE: Vehicles and trailers with the original purpose of being roadworthy etc are taxed regardless of use purchased for - Parts, Scrap, just around the farm - ALL TAXED!
Buyer's Premium Due to the extra costs involved with the online auction platform, we charge a 10% Buyer's premium on all purchases but we cap it at a maximum of $100.00 per lot on items selling for under 10,000.00.
Items selling over 10,000 will be charged $150.00 buyers premium. Flat fee
Items selling over 50,000 will be charged $200.00 buyers premium. Flat fee
PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS: PAYMENT is due Prior to or at pickup (unless pre-arrangements have been made (Financing Co. etc)). The invoice will show when cashiers are onsite

Visa and MC payments via phone or in person with a 3% fee to be added to invoice total.
Payment of online purchases in full is due within 2 business days of the auction by the following methods:
E-transfer, Cash, Money Order, Bank draft, Interac ($1.95 +GST fee), or
Visa/Mastercard with a 3% (min $1.95 + GST) fee added.
Cheques are only accepted from customers with a history of good payments with Garton's Auction Service.
NO ITEMS LEAVE UNTIL PAYMENT HAS BEEN MADE IN FULL AND CLEARED OUR BANK!!!
ITEMS ARE TO BE PICKED UP IN THE ALLOTTED PICKUP TIMES UNLESS SPECIFIC ARRANGEMENTS ARE MADE WITH THE SELLER. SMALL ITEMS MAY BE SHIPPED BUT ARE SUBJECT TO HANDLING AND SHIPPING COSTS AT THE BUYER'S EXPENSE.
SMALL ITEMS REQUESTED TO BE BROUGHT BACK TO THE AUCTIONEER'S FACILITY ARE SUBJECT TO A MINIMUM OF $5.00 PER ITEM CHARGE DEPENDING ON WEIGHT AND SIZE. ITEMS NOT PICKED UP WITHIN 2 WEEKS WILL BE RESOLD AS RECOVERY OF COSTS WHETHER PAID FOR OR NOT!
Please respect our time available for this auction and commitment to upcoming auctions. Unless specific arrangements are made, Items not picked up within these 2 days will incur storage charges and will only be held for 2 weeks after the auction closing. These items will be resold and the buyer may be blocked from further bidding! This applies to all items paid or not paid.
