The Winchester 1897 12-gauge is a pump-action shotgun designed by John Moses Browning, known for its rapid "slam-fire" capability, which allowed for a high rate of fire by holding the trigger and pumping the action.The 1897 was used extensively for hunting, law enforcement, and famously in World War I as the "trench gun". Key features include a tubular 5 round magazine, a single action bar, and a bottom-ejecting action. This Shotgun shows a manufactured date of 1910 and still retains its original patina. This shotgun shows moderate pitting throughout metals, more notably on left side of receiver, Wood shows the history this shotgun has survived, not cracks or splitting, and still retains the original buttplate.
