Ruger's Mini-14 semi-automatic rifles have a solid reputation for being reliable under all conditions and have proven themselves in law enforcement and military use worldwide. The Mini 14 operates with a simple Garand-style design that uses a fixed-piston gas system where gas impinges directly upon the operating rod and a breech bolt locking system. A large extractor and fixed ejector send spent cases flying swiftly to the right of the shooter. The ejector is set to eject cases low to avoid hitting the mounted NcStar 1.5-6x40 scope on a B-Square removable side mount. No tools are required to quickly field strip the rifle down to a few large parts that are not easily misplaced, and it reassembles just as quickly. This rifle has a blued steel barrel and receiver, a smooth walnut stock and rarely seen top handguard. A curved buttplate keeps the rifle on the shoulder during rapid fire. It has a fixed blade front sight and flip up rear sight that allows fast target acquisition and holds up to rugged use.
