Barrel: 24

Serial # 477
Condition: Good
Manufactured in 1917 at the Erfurt Arsenal for the Imperial German Army, and re-stamped in "1920" as a Weimar Republic government property stamp applied after WWI to track firearms permitted under the Treaty of Versailles. The Allies mandated the disarmament of the German populace. Rifles legally retained by the new 100,000 man military (the Reichswehr) or official police forces were stamped "1920" to indicate they belonged to the state and were officially registered. This example has been sporterized by shortening the stock. It still retains its front and rear tangent sights, and turned-down bolt handle. This is an all matching numbers rifle and could be put back into military configuration with a stock change. It still retains its Imperial Waffenampts and finish. There are some signs of wear and some small scratches. Please see photos. C&R
