Bauernfeind was a German gunmaker based in Heidelberg known for producing high-quality, often custom-engraved firearms in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. While information on specific 12-gauge shotgun models is limited due to their age and custom nature, they are typically found as Side-by-Side (SxS) Shotguns: Classic German double-barrel designs, often featuring intricate factory engraving on the receiver and fine wood stocks. These are considered vintage or collectible firearms. Auction prices can vary significantly based on condition and the level of engraving, with some specimens selling for over $1,100 at specialized auctions. It is in its original patina with engraved receiver and double rabbit eared exterior hammers, checkered walnut forend and straight stock with steel buttplate, double triggers, and a bottom swing to side barrel release. There are scratches, dents, and dings on the stock. I would have a gunsmith look it over to see if modern low pressure shells can be used. Please see photos.
