Canadian Wildlife Art - 1 Brent Townsend Signed Wolf Pack Lithograph

Framed limited edition print by Canadian wildlife artist Brent Townsend - 28 1/4 x 48 1/4”, depicting a pack of timber wolves gathered on a snowy lakeshore with frosted evergreens and misty treeline beyond. It is pencil signed Brent Townsend and pencil numbered 954/1500 in the lower margin, with the plate signature Townsend 90 in the image. The print is presented under glass with a pale blue mat, a slim silver-tone inner fillet and a distressed grey-blue wood frame. Condition presents clean, with light general wear to the frame consistent with display. | | *Brent Townsend was born near Toronto in 1962 and is one of Canada's best-known wildlife artists. In 1989 he became the first Canadian and the youngest person to win the Artist of the Year award from the collectors society at the Western and Wildlife Art Exhibition in Minneapolis. In 1996 his polar bear design was chosen for the Canadian two-dollar coin. His signed and numbered wolf prints from editions of 1500 have been offered on the secondary market at up to $139 US unframed.
