Antique rifle Colt model 1861/ 1863, .58 cal percussion single shot muzzle loading, w/ bbl length 40" [Stripped barrel with fixed front and three position flip up rear sight. Includes ramrod. Full length wooden stock with curved metal butt plate. Markings include "P", "G.B.F", "Y" on underside of barrel, "W.P.", 'STEEL" on left rear of barrel, 'VP' and an eagle head on left side of barrel, '1863' on top of barrel,"J", "U.S" on butt plate, '1863" and 'U.S. COLT'S PT F.A.MFG CO. HARTFORD, CT" on lock plate and two cartouches with initials on left side of stock. Bluing polished and worn from barrel with some pitting and rust. Stock has been refinished and has had some repairs, one screw bushing missing on left side of stock. Mechanically appears to function reasonably well.
